Project Management
EWMA design, engineering and management capabilities enable it to handle virtually any aspect of the design and management of a project, from initial concept and planning through construction to final phase project completion and maintenance.
When a project is located at a new location and involves multinational resources and technology transfer, it is particularly important for a knowledgeable program manager to be involved from the concept or feasibility study phase EWMA program managers provide valuable assistance in identifying assessing and validating the various location factors and conditions critical to the successful phasing and execution of the entire project. The program management team then oversees and directs or executes the various planning design construction maintenance and operational services.
EWMA approach to design and project management is to increase efficiency through the use of innovative engineering and management ideas which maximize the use of the client's existing resources. State-of-the art computer software and data base access enable EWMA to reduce administrative time and avoid costly duplication of efforts while ensuring stringent quality assurance and quality control. Utilization of the most advanced technologies and standards to affect problem solutions ensures lasting product quality and equipment dependability after project completion.
QUALITY ASSURANCE AND CONTROL
Comprehensive program management requires project continuity, professional integration, timely completion, quality assurance and control, and cost control throughout the project. EWMA is capable of providing total project management, from inception through detailed design, implementation management and construction to insure efficient, timely and cost effective control and completion of a project.
EWMA's strict standard operating procedures maintain project control and quality assurance under the direct supervision of registered professional engineers and review by senior staff. Additionally, on international projects EWMA utilizes key staff members who have significant international experience in business and government relations.
Project Monitoring Cost Control and Scheduling Procedures include:
(a) Project manager regularly monitors progress reports and projected versus actual budget expenditures.
(b) Project schedules are developed with strict task and work product delivers dates; adherence to the critical path is ensured and appropriate adjustments are made where necessary.
(c) Large projects are planned with sophisticated project management software; task progress and adherence to the critical path of the project are regularly monitored and adjustments made as necessary.
(d) Project managers and senior executives review all work product and reports for QA/QC purposes prior to client submittal and implementation.
Engineering cost estimates are refined and updated prior to construction. At Phases I and II, optimum, as well as worst case estimates are made with certain underlying assumptions concerning project feasibility and site engineering. These costs are presented to the client as an order of magnitude engineering estimate. Costs are then refined throughout Phase III and Phase IV of the program as conceptual, preliminary, and detailed engineering cost estimates. EWMA traditional engineering approach to cost estimates provides a no surprise approach to assessing construction costs and engineering requirements.
The Total Quality Management ("TQM") process focuses on continuous improvement to work product quality by linking safety, quality, and productivity and is designed to closely follow GMP (good manufactiring practices) and to parallel ISO 9000 standards. EWMA has a clear understanding of these standards and requirements. A Quality Management Plan is formulated on each project to include implementation and communication throughout the organization. TQM is integrated with our subcontractors and suppliers to ensure overall consistent quality.
